Pick n Pay Heugh Road where you pay and pay and pay!

I am absolutely disgusted. My husband and I just popped into Pick n Pay, Heugh Road, Walmer, Port Elizabeth for a quick shop. The cashier swiped my husband's card and confirmed the transaction was unsuccessful so swiped it again. On arriving home we have discovered that the transaction went through twice. I'm not an unreasonable person as these errors do occur. When I called them to bring the error to their attention they advised we need a bank statement in hand on arrival. While this is a reasonable request (obviously ********* are clever)when I asked if it was expected that we are out of pocket in the interim the lady's response was simply "Yes". Not once was I offered an apology on the error made by their staff. I then asked to speak to a manager, after she abandoned the phone after 5 minutes it was clear that she had left me hanging. Clearly their inflated prices have left little room for customer service.
