Pick n Pay delivering EXPIRED raw meat via Mr D and hanging up on complaints!

I am writing this to warn consumers about Pick n Pay’s online delivery fulfillment practices and atrocious customer service.

On Satuday (22 August), I placed a grocery delivery order via Mr D. Upon receiving my items, I discovered that Pick n Pay dispatched raw meat that was ALREADY ONE DAY PAST ITS EXPIRATION DATE: • BLK Kameelhout Boerewors (1.090kg / R130.79): "Use By" date was 21-AUG-2026 (Delivered on 22-AUG-2026).

In addition to delivering expired meat, multiple other items were sent on their terminal date of viability: • PNP Skinless Chicken Breast Fillets: "Use By" 23-AUG-2026 (1 day remaining). • PNP Lean Beef Mince: "Use By" 23-AUG-2026 (1 day remaining). • Douglasdale Fresh Milk: Minimal shelf life remaining.

Offloading expired, hazardous raw meat onto online delivery customers who cannot inspect labels prior to purchase is an absolute violation of consumer trust and statutory food safety regulations under the Consumer Protection Act.

When I called Customer Care to escalate this serious health hazard, the agents passed me around from department to department before hanging up on me entirely.

I have photographic proof of all barcodes and expired labels. I demand a formal explanation from management regarding why expired meat is sitting on shelves and being packed for customers.
