Pick n Pay Corporate sent me on a wild "goose" chase

<p>On the 26 Aug 2016 I visited each of the following PnP stores; Boston, Kenridge, Pam Golding and Welgemoed after seeing a PnP flyer advertising on its front page that these stores have the "Sound Card Reader" for R50.00 At each of these stores I was told that PnP does not have these readers and in fact they have been discontinued and PnP will no longer be supplying these to the paying consumer. I then decided to lodge a formal complaint on the same day with "Monroe" on the PnP Customer Care Line number: ********** 288 which infuriated me even more when he A) would not even escalate my call to the CEO's desk as I requested and B) when he point blank refused to supply me with his surname and became arrogant with me on the call. To date nobody from PnP ANYWHERE has called or contacted me to explain why my rights as a paying consumer have been violated, why PnP has launched this huge drawing card without the proper support structure in place that would provide to the paying consumer what they advertise TO DELIVER. The staff I spoke to in store were so proud to add that they have an endless supply of the animal cards!!!! What use are the cards if your toddler can’t enjoy the actual sounds? I feel exploited, my time and money have been wasted and as a loyal die-hard PnP customer this was the last thing I expected. I’m so glad OK Food Market are down the road from them. Well, it does not end there, I'm glad to add. The South African Consumer Protection Act, No 68 of 2008 which was signed on 24 April 2009 is designed to protect the interests of all consumers, ensure accessible, transparent and efficient redress for consumers who are subjected to abuse or exploitation in the marketplace and also to give effect to internationally recognised consumer rights. </p> <p>The Consumer protection Act define a consumer as any person to whom goods and services are marketed, who is a user of the supplier’s goods, enters into a transaction with the supplier or service provider of any services and products.</p> <p>As a consumer you have certain rights and you must know your rights and consumers should be aware that they are entitled to enforce their rights. The consumer protection act and the Bill of Rights allow consumer certain rights and these include the following:</p> <p>Right to privacy.<br /> Right to choose your product.<br /> Right to fair and honest dealing.<br /> Right to disclosure of information.<br /> Right to fair and responsible marketing.<br /> Right to accountability by suppliers.<br /> Right to fair value, good quality and safety.<br /> Right to fair, just and reasonable terms and conditions.<br /> Right to Equality in the consumer market and protection against discriminatory marketing.</p> <p>Knowing my rights allows me to take action which is exactly what I intend to do.</p> <p> </p>
