Pick 'n Pay at Midway Mews is a disgrace!

This store is going from bad to worse and is an embarrassment to the Pick 'n Pay brand.

On any given day, I defy anyone to go there with a simple shopping list and get everything on that list. Empty shelves will await you, with the most basic ingredients missing.

When you can't even get simple things like lemons or butternut, or coleslaw mix, or even hotdog rolls, and complain to the management, you get a shrug of the shoulders and an attitude that just shows you how little they care.

The list is truly endless and I'm not exaggerating here, it's virtually every single day.

We invariably have to go up the road to Spar to fill our grocery list, and every time we ask ourselves, why didn't we just go there in the first place?

The one exception at that store is a manager called Fazil, who will always go out of his way to help you. He honestly deserves somewhere better.

I have a wide circle of friends in the Midrand community and every single one of them refuses to shop there, all of them calling the store an absolute disgrace.

I have been shopping at that store since 1999 (before it even became a P&P) but since new owners took over a few years ago, it's been a frustrating experience. I have now reached the end of my tether with them.

This morning there wasn't one packet of Peter Stuyversant Blue of any denomination. Not one. This happens with such regularity it's a joke.

My wife bought chicken fillets this afternoon and as soon as we opened them, we were hit with a horrible odor. She returned them, only to find that every single packet of chicken fillets in the store was off!

Their explanation that they were expecting a power failure and so didn't put out fresh chicken, was the most bizarre I have ever heard in my life!

She took her refund, and yes, she did what we do so often, finished her shopping at Spar.

I'm not sure what control PnP has over its franchisees, but it's not doing its job with this store.

How this place carries the name "Pick 'n Pay" above its doors is beyond me.
