Pick n Pay ASAP robs people
I've had the Pick N Pay ASAP app on my phone for months but had never used it. I didn't find it very intuitive so I preferred and often use the checkers 60 app. On the weekend of the 15th of Feb 2025 I visited an elderly friend of the family's who is a die hard Pick N Pay fan and she asked if I could order something for her daughter who is at a home for the Disabled in Centurion. It too me about an hour to order 5 items. I felt very defeated by hiw slow and unituituve the platform was. Eventually I got to place the order and got confirmation it would be delivered between 4 and 4:30pm, order placement was confirmed around 2:45pm. I thought that was a little long but it was in Centurion. Perhaps the PicK n Pays are few and far in between. Any way then around 6 or 6:30pm I started getting calls from someone at the ASAP call Centre I think and they asked if I can confirm if my order was received. I called the home and they advised they hadn't received anything. Then I advised the call centre agent. Any way cut the long story short on Sunday I then got an email to say my delivery was successful. I then called the hone again. They confirmed they hadn't received anything. So I ordered everything via the Checkers 60 app and it was delivered within the hour and my total was R30 less. I then reached our to Pi k N Pay and asked to be credited for the undelivered goods back into my account, I was told I would get a refund into my ASAP wallet and I must transfer it to my bank account and that could take 3 to 7 days. I work in sales so I thought they were just erring on the side of caution with 7 days. On Monday, the funds reflected in my wallet, and I requested the transfer reversal into my bank account. On Thursday, I called Pick n Pay again and followed up. I was advised that the funds hadn't been transferred, but it would be done then, but it would take 3 to 7 days. So it's now 5 days later, and nothing has happened. The lack of urgency is disheartening, especially when It was an error in their side.
