Pick n Pay ASAP - IT'S A TRAP
With reference to my online experience using the Pick n Pay ASAP app, I would strongly advise everyone against using this app and/or service. Apart from the fact that the goods were delivered after 17H00, when the order was placed around 12H00, the biggest concern is the following; When ordering, Pick n Pay shows you their full product offering, leading the customer to believe that all these items are available, but, only after payment was made, they indicate the out of stock products. They then proceed to send a mail to urge the customer to make alternative selections. Firstly, a customer now has to play "shot in the dark", since you still won't know which products are available, and secondly, should you not have alternative selections, they conveniently park your money in their app - known as your wallet. Their terms and conditions explicitly indicate that the money will be refunded back to where it was paid from and assure customers that they process the refund immediately, but that it could take some time to reflect in your account - Not because of them, but because your bank might take time to process the refund. After eventually finding the wallet linked to my account, I saw that the refund amount was indeed still there, to be used for future purchases - How convenient. Following the whole s**** of providing my banking details, as if they didn't have it when I had made the purchase, a mail confirmation was received, indicating that the EFT will be completed in five to ten days. I am pretty sure the money doesn't float in thin air, as it is "waiting" to be processed gaining interest while awaiting the actual refund. How about an instant refund since you couldn't deliver upon your indicated product offering? I herewith strongly advise everyone, whom do not whish to become a Pick a Pay shareholder, to not use this app. It is astonishing how, with the current level of technology, and having reviewed other online apps, being able to provide the basic functionality to immediately indicate an out-of-stock scenario, that a company such as Pick n Pay, doesn't have it available, on their app. Mail Received: "We need some important information from you, such as your banking details, to kick off the process. Please click here and follow the prompts. If you can’t open the link, copy the URL below into your browser:---------------- Once we have everything we need, we will process your refund. A refund can take up to 5 - 10 days to reflect on your statement. So, please keep a lookout "
P.S. - Don not bother to phone the customer service since the automatic answering service will keep you holding whilst you will foot the bill. I advise using the email option.
