Pick n Pay, - a bad taste

I visited the Vincent Park branch of PnP recently, and feel I just HAVE to write a review. I must be honest, it was a public holiday, the supermarket was buzzing. On arrival, I was disappointed to find there were NO trolleys available. Being quite a vocal individual I was loud and annoyed, only to be told by a customer entering the supermarket that he came there EVERY day early in the morning, and there were NEVER trolleys. I managed to get hold of a large plastic trolley from a customer leaving. I loaded this huge trolley with 11 items (two being 2 packets of Lays crisps, which were on a special, providing I purchase 2). The shop was buzzing, there were 4 express tills, I stood in a que, only to be turned away by the cashier, - 10 items only. The cashier did not count the items, yet I was standing there with this huge plastic trolley. I tried to explain, no use at all. I left the items at the cashier (there was NO way I was going to pack them back after that). I went to the management desk, and actually handed my PnP points card in, (they gave it back to me) - in my mind it is not worth the effort. I went to Woolworths and Spar to buy what I needed. I vowed to myself that I would not return. This afternoon (17 May 2018), I went to Vincent Park to buy some shampoo. I then went into PnP, and took 2 pineapples and proceeded to the checkout. The express tills were closed, - I would have to stand in a fairly long que for 2 pineapples. I left the pineapples behind. I then went to the bottle store to purchase a bottle of whiskey. I actually have some credit on this "smart shopper" card and wished to use them at the bottle store. The cashier there took the smart shopper card and swiped it, - the machine asked me for a PIN. I have used this same card on a number of occasions, I have never been asked for a PIN. The cashier then said maybe I should check on the machine inside the bottle store to see what my actual balance was. No problem, I left the bottle of whiskey on the counter, and went over to swipe my card in the machine. Guess what, it didn't work!! There is an option to manually insert the smart shopper card, which I selected. Guess what, the machine froze on me. I left the expensive bottle of whiskey on the counter, and left Sadly, I am no longer prepared to shop at Pick n Pay (Vincent Park), and unfortunately now have a mental block about Pick n Pay in general. Why go through all this effort, when this lack of service becomes so evident? There are plenty of other retailers that I can use, without this type of service. I am one, - I just wonder how many other people are so sick and tired of this that they have joined me in choosing to avoid Pick n Pay at all costs?
