Pick n Pay

Today I visited the Last Lucia mall pick n Pay branch. Needless to say there was a very long line of people waiting to enter the store to do their shopping. I approached the security at the door and informed him i just need their help desk and don't need to go "into" the store, all I needed to do was have my Smart shopper card activated. The desk I needed to go to was empty and right at the door but behind the glass doors so he informed me as long as I need to pass the door line I need to follow the queue like everyone else who were waiting to do shopping. There was also a very rude female in the queue who found it necessary to interfer. The consumer sales manager , Princess, came to the door and I explained to her what I needed, she also explained that this is Pick n Pays rules, irrespective of what you need to do or where you need to go, you need to follow the queue. I found that ridiculous, I mean especially now when so much "precaution" is seemingly taken with Covid 19, making people stand and wait in a queue unnecessarily is terrible. The desk I required was in front of the shop, right next to security and it was empty, what was the need to make me or any other customer requiring services of that desk only with no need to enter the shop itself for shopping stand in the same queue as "shoppers" to the store?? I appreciate the assistance and logical thinking of the sales manager Princess who assisted me with this very simple and quick procedure of replacing the card and I could go.
