Pick and Pay taking advantage of Lockdown
Why does Pick and Pay Liquors take advantage of prices pre lockdown. A SAB Lion Quart's RRP is R10.00 excluding deposit with is R0.90. Therefore a bottle should retail for R10.90. ( as per neck tag on bottle) this is a promo that has been running for a while and any other liquor stores retails it for that price. On 26 March I purchase 2 cases from Pick and Pick Wonderboom and to.my shock i was charged R13.92 a bottle.. upon asking the cashier I was told a price increase on the product. My Brother in Law purchase a case from Ultra Liquors on the same day and paid R10.90 a bottle. How can this be or was Pick and Pay just taking advantage of the lockdown to randomly increase prices. I suggest that SAB ask retailers to remove these tags if the price to the rerailers were increased as per Pick and Pay Staff
Thank you for taking the time to write to us and for addressing your concerns with us.
We will do a follow up with our Buying Team with regards to the price of this product, however we may only receive feedback after lock down as this department is currently closed.
We have not increase the prices of products however in some cases where the cost price has gone up, we have unfortunately had to adjust the price to reflect the price paid to the manufacturer for new stock.
We are working hard with our suppliers to keep key products available and affordable, and we have committed to the Government that we will do the same.
We value you as a Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels. Kind Regards,The Pick n Pay Team
