PICK AND PAY-NOT HONORING ''DOUBLE THE DIFFERENCE'' IN CORRECT PRICE-''DONT CARE ATTITUDE FROM WAYNE, THE STORE MANAGER''

BACKGROUND -I visited pick n pay Somerset mall on the 20th of July 2021 -upon entering the store they had a huge display advertising discounted prices on their winter goodies -one of those items was a ‘’single bed electric blanket ‘’ for R199.00—I would have liked to attache a pic of the promo, but cant seem to do that -I took one and proceeded to the till, where it rang up as R299.00 and not the advertised price

INTERACTION AT TILL POINT -a supervisor came and adjusted the price to R199.00 as per the display advert -when I asked about’’ double the difference’’, she said it does not apply as the barcode ‘’does not match’ ’as there is no barcode printed on the actual promo price of R199.00 ‘’shelf strip’’ to compare with the barcode on the actual product -they did acknowledge that it is the same product as advertised and would therefore give it to me at the advertised price of R199.00 - I then asked to see the manager

INTERACTION WITH THE STORE MANGER -A MANAGER BY THE NAME OF WAYNE came and said he will definitely not honour the double the difference as, whilst he agrees it is definitely the same product as advertised in the promo, there was no actual barcode printed on the actual R199.00 instore advert—so therefore according to him—he could not compare barcodes due to this -he agreed that it was the same product -he referred me to a board instore –which says something about ‘’barcode must match the advert -I said they are just using a small technicality not to honour double the difference, as he agreed that the product is the same one as advertised at R199.00 -I then said I am not happy and am going to take this further with ''Wendy Knowler'' -he said he doesn’t care and I can do as I please -I then proceeded to try and take a photo of the ‘’double the difference’’ board hanging in the store, as I wanted to attach it to this mail -he refused to let me take a photo -he said this is his store and he will not give me permission to take a photo of the board -I then asked to take a photo of ‘’his name tag’’ to help me remember his name -he point blank refused and said its ******* and he will not allow it in his store -he had an extremely un helpful and ‘’don’t care’’ attitude

I then left the store without purchasing the electric blanket

I truly believe this happens frequently with many customers and I feel I was really treated badly by n manager with a real don’t care attitude

Please let me know if you require additional information

Thank you and regards
