Pick and Pay makes a mistake, refuse to rectify and keep quiet. POOR service!
I bought a microwave, kettle, a few smaller items and bayonet lightbulbs for delivery on Monday. The goods were delivered and the driver was in a hurry as usual. I made sure the larger items were present, opened most of the bags and looked as best as I can.
See, I have a visual disability: blind in the right eye and the left has macular degeneration, making it almost impossible to read and hard to recognize faces.
I photographed the items I did not recognize and magnified the lightbulbs - they were the *****-in type. I double-checked the picture on Pick and Pay's web site on my large PC screen and they had delivered the wrong type.
I tried to contact the driver, but their tracking told me he was long gone. I emailed customer service and waited.
And waited. I received a reply on Wednesday saying I must give unwanted items to the driver or take them to the nearest PnP. I wrote them back, explaining I have disabilities and could they not exchange the product with the correct one on my next order? After all, they had packed the wrong item.
I am still waiting for a reply. Well, I spent thousands of rands at Pick and Pay each month - this is the kind of customer service one can expect, and of course, zero loyalty.
Take into consideration that THEY made the mistake, they should rectify it! I am literally sitting in the dark because the only bedside lamp I own uses a bayonet lightbulb. I do not have the funds left to purchase a new lamp that uses a *****-in type lightbulb.
Do you realize what the problem is?
1. I ordered a 2 pack of bayonet lightbulbs. (These are the smooth ones with protruding pins) and was delivered the *****-in type, which does NOT work with the light fittings.
2. The wrong product was delivered and should be exchanged with the correct one on a subsequent delivery.
I have set the product aside, unopened.
If you assure me that the delivery person will exchange the correct product on a subsequent delivery, the problem can be solved. Alternatively, collect the wrong product and credit my credit card with the amount. I can purchase this product elsewhere.
I have bought last week's groceries from Checkers and in the light of this poor service, I recommend others to do so too in order to avoid these frustrations in dealing with Pick and Pay.
