Pathetic Service with Disrespect

Good Day Management

I am extremely angry and disappointed by the service received at one of your branches based in Dobsonville Mall Soweto.

Note I don't live nowhere close to the mall , I had to take Bolt services from Jabulani Flats to Dobsonville thus back home and yet received so much disrespect from your staff.

I got to the Pick n Pay store with my two year old son to do mini groceries and the main purchase was a mealie meal as I had to make porridge for him this morning.

I got to the till and I noticed the Super maize meal 1kg had a like a spider nest , I took it back asile to pick another super maize meal packet and noticed it was different and the expiry dated as 08/02/2022. Went back to the till paid and took a Bolt back home. When I got home and started transferring the maize meal into my empty glass container, I then noticed the spider looking net with two dead bugs inside the packet and two had fallen in the glass container. I then immediately stopped transferring as off the disappointment I had seen and not having to cook porridge for my son.

Note, I was very calmed about the whole situation , as to my thoughts I'd complete cooking then rush back to the Dobsonville Mall Pick n Pay. Quick in and out.

I requested for Bolt again which cost me R 49 this time around and went back to the Pick n Pay store , in my arrival I started off by the security man within Pick n Pay. I told him and showed him what on I had found , he then directed me to the Kiosk, I got to the Kiosk and there was a que and this is just to show I was calm. I remained in the que and when I got the teller , she then told me I had to go Zanele by Money market, got the market I was then told to go to the parcel container a "person" should assist me from there. Okay fine , got to the parcel container the lady then said I must go back to the money market AGAIN. I then Told her I'm not going there because they are playing a potato game and I just needed to exchange and get my money. I requested for a supervisor the nerve she had to tell me that I need to walk to the office. THE NERVE!!!

To her rescue a lady by the name of Gugu Nkosi came by and asked what was going on , I explained and showed her again why I was there. Her response was why did they send me to parcel counter? And mentioned she aware of the state of the maize meal because it was raining and there's leak in that area. Honestly I just wanted to be assist and leave as I had to rush back home. She accompanied me to the money market. And I was thankful . Here's the twist and the disrespect I got from her.

When she was placing my glass container onto the container table, she broke it. I then asked her calmy "then what about my container" , these are her words in response "Haai sisi, angina mali buya on the 15Dec " (I don't have money come back on the 15 Dec) . A simple question I asked that followed her answer is that then how can I trust her because she might run away from me and she might be off on that day. She literally increased her voice in front of other customers and said " Angina Dankie" ( I don't appreciate her ), I then asked her to calm down and bring down her voice because in actual fact I am the one that should be angry and disrespecting her yet she has the nerve to this to A CUSTOMER who wasnt even rude to her. And she walked away while I was talking her and still with her disrespecting tone she moved away. Ended up taking her name and surname as I had to rush back home.

What makes me angry is that walked in there calmed thinking it will be an in and out without any intentions of being disrespected nor to get into an argument. I walked with so much respect but after what I received, I request apology from your staff just because I am young and black doesn't mean I should be disrespected like that in-front of other customers mores escp not even my own mother and husband raise their voices at me like she did. All i wanted to do was exchange the maize meal and head home. But your staff don't know what to do and how to assist a customer. I work in a customer service environment and never ever had I been so disrespected with my customers regardless of the age or race. Sies who does she think she is . It's PATHETIC, I need action and feedback on this. Didn't think something so small could end up being something this big. Nxa
