Pathetic Service at Pick 'n Pay Scottburgh Mall

My son bought an OVHD from Pick 'n Pay on the 3rd July 2020! From the time of Purchase, he has had no end of trouble with the Memory Stick! He records movies and is never able to watch it! At first, we could format the stick on the OVHD unit! Then it wouldn't let us do that so we formatted it on the computer and then it would record for a day or 2 and then have a problem again! It would come up on his TV that the stick needed to be formatted! So he hasn't been able to use that Memory Stick at all. And he is a Disability Pensionser and paid for this with his Pension.

My son went into Pick 'n Pay and asked if he could return it and get a new one! He spoke to the Supervisor with the glasses and she told him to bring his box and slip! We know her as we have been going to this Pick n Pay for more than 2 years, but she denied this when I eventually got to Pick 'n Pay with the box and slip on the 30th December 2020.

I spoke to a gentleman called Lovashni (I am not sure of the Spelling) who said due to it being the 1st of January on the Friday, could I give him grace until Monday the 4th of January. He said he would have to look to see if they had stock, but they never had any stock!, He then said he would call his branches and get one delivered to Scottburgh Mall or order some, but he would give me a call on Monday 4th January!

Needless to say, I had to call the store! He then again told me he had no stock but it should be delivered by Thursday the 7th of January. He also said that he would be going on Leave but I could contact Dino and she would assist me!

I called Dino on the 7th January and she said they still had not received any stock she would find out and call me the following day! I had to call Dino again to be told Lovashni was on Leave and he was the only one that could help me! He would be back the following week!

I called again on the 11th and spoke to Dino, yet again, and she remembered the lady (so she says) but only Lovashni could help me! I had to ask again when Lovashni would be back then it changed to the following week i.e. the 18th January!

So when someone goes on Leave at Pick 'n Pay no one else can help you! In the meantime the Guarantee is running out and should the next Memory Stick my son receives be faulty we would just be told! Sorry it's out of Guarantee!

I really was shocked at this treatment as I dealt with Selwyn before on Specials that were advertised but were not on hand in the Store! And Selwyn actually went to the Pick n Pay in Scott Street to fetch the Specials for me as I was given a lift to Pick n Pay!! I do not own a car.

We are Pensioners! I cannot afford to go into the store every day or even once a week! And then when someone goes on Leave there is no one in the whole of Pick 'n Pay who can help you! No Manager! No one in charge!

I know the service is disgusting in South Africa on the whole! But Pick 'n Pay is a huge chain! You would expect better service!
