Overpriced energy bars

I seem to keep coming back to this company, for one thing or another, and very rarely complimentary. My latest complaint is that I visited our local Pick n Pay,and purchased an imported box o 6 energy bars, the price was R54.99,two days later I went to our local Checkers, only to find to my dismay, the identical box of a Ba! energy bars for R28.99.I understand there are always price differences, but 90% might be a little high. Please can I have an explanation?

Good day Harry,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

The nature of retail is such that we & our competitors run promotions on products throughout the year. These are typically never aligned from a timing point of view and therefore it would not be possible to simply match our prices all the time.

We value you as a Pick n Pay customer and welcome your feedback to improve our services.

Kind Regards,

Anwar Moideen

Anwar,With due respect that response is just not true. The item concerned is NOT a promotion but the normal price ,and has been for many months. Incidentally at another chain, the same product is R35 ,so that indicates that the price charged by your chain is not competitive at any level.May I suggest that before you rush into another general response, you at least have a look at the specific issue raised. It does not enhance the company's reputation,by sending out generic letters when faced with a query.
