Outdated Stock

On the 20th Jan 2025 i went to the Pick 'n Pay Loch Logan Waterfront and as a reputable store, I did not bother to check the BB of the brown and white bread. As I am about to prepare lunch for my kid for the next day, I notice the bread isn't as I am used to. Upon checking the BB, I realise that the BB is for the 21st of January. I am at fault for not checking the BB but how does a reputable store like this keep stock that's seemingly outdated!?
