Online shopping - a very bad experience

It's nearly 3 weeks now since PnP promised a credit for the poor quality meat they delivered as part of an online order we placed. We received a tax credit note after multiple complaints three days ago - but they still haven't crediited our purchase to our card.

The item in dispute was some stewing beef which was of such a poor qulity that it consisted almost entirely of fat and bone. One wonders firstly how such low grade products are even considered acceptable to be send out to clients. It seems based on previous experience with PnP online shopping that they believe that once the client receives their goods they will just accept what PnP 'dishes out' to them rather than complain and have the inconvenience of sending items back.

Having dealt with Tesco's in the UK for many years and many other online stores in SA - it is seems PnP don't really regard online shopping critical to their future success. Time will tell.

Here's a list of just a few of the major problems with their online site:

* the online website is very poorly laid out

* the search function doesn't work reliably

* many products are not correctly indexed and don't appear in the search results

* many products categories are poorly defined making it diffcult to find products

* at least 50% of the products don't have pictures associated with them (no excuse for this)

* there are so many products that are not included on their site that you may as well go to PnP since you won't be able to purchase everything you need via their site - this fact alone completely nullifies the entire online shopping process

* the site is also relatively slow to process items placed in the basket (I have a very fast computer and internet connection)

* very slow and poor after sales support

All in all a really bad online buying experience and one that has negatively impacted our overall trust and respect for PnP.

We won't be using their online site anymore.

Pick n Pay you really need to improve your standards - my suggestion would be that you copy Tesco's online system - it's light years ahead of yours.
