Norwood Pick n Pay Liquor Altercation
I am a regular shopper at the Norwood Pick n Pay and have never had any problems with them. Today I was having friends over so I stopped by the Norwood Pick n Pay Liquor to get a few things. I had my younger brother with me as well to get some medication for him. Unfortunately upon entering, I was left to continue but the security guard rudely called for my brother. He then proceeded to shout at my brother, this is when I turned around to address him and I addressed him nicely to try and calm the situation and sort out the problem. My brother proceeds to walk and at that point the security guard continues to raise his voice, and tries to forcefully remove my brother by the arm because he is underage. According to the Liquor License Act 1997, Under section 111 of the Act, a sign must be prominently displayed at all entry points to the designated area where the minor is not allowed. I did not see a sign of such sort. To avoid further conflict, I get my brother and leave the store. As we leave the store the security guard then verbally attacks my brother and tells him that he needs to "grow up" as he is a "small boy". I'm upset because of the way this guard has dealt with the situation and how he addressed my brother. This is really unacceptable and because of this incident and inconvenience caused, I would rather go elsewhere than be treated with such disrespect.
