No store complies with double the difference policy

Went to pnp greenstone. Had some items ring up incorrectly. After confirming that I was right (took 20 minutes to get the barcode, due to the staff member sauntering casually to get the barcode).

They corrected the price, but I asked about Double the difference, Dorcas told me that they don't have that policy anymore (a previous reply on hellopeter for today from Pnp says otherwise). Called a manager (Dinesh)and was told that it only applies to pnp branded items. I think that the company policy is to not say anything to customers about the policy, and if they ask, give them a Bs story. Every single store has a different story. Do away with this ambiguity - either it's a policy or not... stop *****ing from your customers

Good day Craig,

Thank you for taking the time to address your concerns with us.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconveniences caused to you.

Double the difference will only work provided that the bar code of the product scanned and the product on the shelf matches. A customer can claim double the difference once the sales has been finalized and payment is made in full with the incorrect price. Should the customer leave the store and return at a later stage, this policy will fall away however the customer will be assisted with a refund  difference of the incorrect amount.
We view this incident in a very serious light, we are busy addressing this with our management team.  We appreciate your feedback and value you as a loyal Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels.
Kind Regards,
The Pick n Pay Team

Okay, but I left the store as I was **** to about the policy. Surely it doesn't fall away in this case?
