No respect for disabled people
I am in a wheelchair... I pushed myself from my house to Steeledale Pick n Pay on Sunday 10th November 2019 after 1 pm accompanied by my partner! She had showed me the catalogue with a Defy c300 fridge on credit for R150 pm and free delivery! I got my paperwork together and went to apply! After all that pushing to get there! I am told by the guy they can not assist me as the people that I need to apply for credit with are not there! And told me to go to a supervisor and leave my details! She sent me back to the electronic department! I was then told to come during the week! I said I can't as I work Monday to Friday and get home late and I would like to apply for the fridge as the special is only on till the 17th and I asked about the delivery! He said there is no delivery and that it's not his problem as there is nothing else he can do! His colleague Patrick said he'd help me but stood by a till on his cellphone and dragging his feet! So I went to look for a manager! He was the Delhi manager! I told him how I was being treated and he also didn't give a ****! He told me to apply online for credit and come back! No respect for the fact that I am disabled! I was just brushed off! I don't have access to a scanner in order to apply! And why not advertise that credit applications can only be done during the week in store!! ****ing outraged by this! I did DM pick n pay on twitter but I wanted to vent this publicly! It's fine to treat white disabled people like this but if this was done to any other people of a different race there would be a huge issue!! I don't want anything!! I just wanted to share my experience and my feelings on the matter!! I'll be going to OK furniture to get my fridge as I am a regular there!!
