No loyalty
On friday 8 Dec 2017, my friend and I went to Pick and Pay at the Rosebank mall. When we got to the wine department, we decided to get this 1.5 litre St Anna natural sweet wine which amazingly was priced at R38. When we got to the till, the item scanned R60 and we made her aware of the discrepancy. The cashier asked the lady on the floor to go and check for verification. To our surprise, the lady went there alone but we didn't say anything because we had no reason not to trust her (but wondered if this was a standard procedure). We waited for +- 10 mins, the lady gave the item and the barcoded price tag written R60 to someone else to bring to us. Then we asked the cashier to call someone senior as we were not happy with how this matter was handled. The guy insisted that the item was R60. We asked him to go to the wine department with us so that we will show him where the R38 item was. To our surprise, there was no price barcode for R38 at all in that department. The guy called the lady who was asked to verify the price, she said there was no problem with pricing as she found the R60 price tag on that item. We were then sent to the guy named Langa who then told us that his staff do not lie and we made him aware that we did not leave our homes and went to Pick and Pay to lie about prices. He then promised to call me on Saturday after he had checked the video footage. I left my cellphone number with him. That did not happen up until today, Monday, 11 Dec 2017. I am worried about loyalty of staff from such a big and most trusted supermarket.
