Needs new management or a serious wake-up call for some sections

I live on a farm between Stellenbosch and Somerset West and my closest Mall is Stellenbosch Square, therefore it makes sense for me to shop there, and because a Pick&Pay is a store with a large variety of goodies it makes sense to shop there, I can get everything I need there. So, I go there to shop almost everyday and I really can't say I am happy with this store. But yes I still go there. Today was no exception as usual. In the first place, there are NEVER NEVER EVER enough till operators or if there are, that's really rare, I don't think I've seen this actually now that I think about it - and then they are standing around chatting to the one or two or three working, thus long queues and lots of frustrated and unhappy customers. This is not only so on less busy times, this is a REGULAR occurance on busy times on weekends, Fridays....you name it, basically all the time. Just never enough till operators, and then most are slow too and the one I got today was so surly, just asked if I wanted a bag, that's all - no really, friendly service costs nothing. You don't have to chat, just be pleasant and smile.

Card machines at the tills - please can you fix this. I had a transaction go through twice just because the machines are so sensitive and you are not supposed to touch your card when you type in your pin. Today the lady before me had her card declined four times, and then suddenly it went through when she used another card. Basically I paid three times for the same transaction the other day, last try was with my credit card. I was so fed up then, just left it there and didn't do anything about it, just wanted to get out of the store after another long wait in the queue.......

And then, the meat section. Many times I have been there just to find there are almost no chicken on the shelves.Almost empty with no variety to choose from. More than once too there wasn't even chicken wings. That made me drop my basket right there (I was also looking for Cajun spice, no luck there too) and I just went to Woolworths, problem solved, but yes had to pay more, which I did not want in the first place, that's why I want to shop at Pick&Pay. The pork, well, that's something else. More than once I bought pork that was off, even though the sell by date was ok. And come to think of it, the colour of the pork makes me wonder if it is really pork at all, it's rather dark.

The bakery makes wonderful "koesisters" but for the rest, I am more inclined to shop somewhere else for freshly baked bread and such. And why is it such a mission to find (bread) croutons? Almost always not on the shelf.....but the veggie section really surprizes me sometimes, I find the most amazing fruits and veggies there and unusual stuff too- dragon fruit, nice radishes, beautiful fresh sweet red spanish peppers. :) So yes, the veggie section is really not too shabby at all :) And the spices and sauces, especially the exotic Japanese/Chinese stuff - I can almost always find what I need, thank you for that. And good prices for the wines, thank you.

So all in all, it's just the tills and bakery and meat section that I think needs a serious wake-up call but for the rest I am not unhappy. If that happens it will be the better Pick&Pay in Stellenbosch!
