Misleading, deceptive Smartshopper offer, and unhelpful, unfriendly staff.

<p>Up until now, my experience with Pick 'n Pays around the Western Cape have been quite good. That was until I went to Pick 'n Pay N1 City.</p> <p> </p> <p>I received a Smart Shopper email with a coupon for "R20 off when you spend R80 or more on Fruit and Vegetables". I was in the area on Friday, so I went to the N1 City branch, and purchased, amongst other items, R92 worth of frozen Vegetables.</p> <p> </p> <p>When I got to the till, the discount wasn't app****, but the store was crowded and disorganized, and I didn't want to hold up the queue, so I paid and went to the information desk, to complain.</p> <p> </p> <p>The lady behind the desk appeared disinterested, and in a less than friendly tone, said, "Only fresh Fruit and Vegetables, that's frozen goods", and proceeded to talk to someone else.</p> <p> </p> <p>Firstly, nowhere does the coupon exclude frozen vegetables, and secondly, I wouldn't have purchased R92 worth had it not been for the discount offered.</p> <p> </p> <p>This feels to me like a classic bait and switch attempt on Pick 'n Pay's part, in that I feel that they are intentionally misleading their customers to get them into their stores.</p> <p> </p> <p>Furthermore, I feel that Pick 'n Pay N1 City's attitude towards their customers is less than acceptable, and over and above this experience, I was overcharged by R7.49 on another item also.</p> <p> </p> <p>I've even contacted Pick 'n Pay's customer care about this, but I have yet to receive any feedback.</p>
