I am appalled by the lack of professionalism that was displayed by the two security guards at your shop on Saturday 20/01/2018. I am still shocked by the treatment meted out to me by a security guard stationed at the entrance/exit. On 20 January 2018 sometime between 3 and 5 pm, I was shopping and minding my business, only to realise that there’s a male security guard following us around the shop, I don’t know what prompted this, since he did not say anything to us I was going to continue and shop even thought it was uncomfortable to shop whiles being escorted, I contained my composure. We proceeded to the till points, I made my payments still having this guy hovering around us. I completed my transaction and proceeded to exit where we met this rude security guard (female), she wanted to see my receipt I comp****, she then impolitely demanded to search my bag, I comp****, it was so obvious to me that I was being treated as a *****, she kept on uttering words like “people *****” she pulled everything out of my bag and did not bother putting it back, by this time I was fuming, why am I being classified as a *****. I waited for her to humiliate me, after she completed I asked her what the reason behind all this was, she couldn’t explain to me. I told her that I did not appreciate her behaviour towards me, she told me she was doing what she was hired to do, to which I have a problem, while I was paying ladies would go in and out without being searched. I don’t have an issue with being searched but I have an issue with inconsistency. I asked for her name, she told me (kenna thloka ina/ I don’t have a name),I asked her why didn’t you search the ladies in front of us she couldn’t answer me. She told me that cameras are not working at the store. To avoid the argument from escalating further, I left the shop but I took an extra 3 minutes to wait and observe, no ladies after us were searched. What really hurt me is the judgment cast upon us by the guards. I am still disturbed by this incident. I believe that those in positions interacting with the public need to be courteous. I must say I felt disrespect and humiliated, I can be many things, but a ***** is not one of them.
