Injured at Pick 'n Pay, 4th Street Mall, Knysna Rd, George
2024/02/14 Pick 'n Pay 4th Street Mall, Knysna Rd, George - The WORST Pick 'n Pay in George, and probably the country. I've tolerated most of the issues at Pick 'n Pay 4th Street Mall in Knysna Rd for far too long now: fridges frequently broken, rude and arrogant staff, only 2-3 tills open on a daily basis regardless of the time of day or month, staff unfriendly and seldom greet you or even reciprocate a greeting or smile, exorbitant prices compared to 3 other Pick 'n Pay's in George, extremely poor management - to name just a few. And the only reason until now that I tolerated it was due to the fact that the store is about 600m from where I stay. So conveniently close for the daily stuff to purchase as it is walking distance and seeing as I don't always have the luxury of being able to drive. HOWEVER, AFTER TODAY I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS STORE EVER AGAIN AND I WILL INFORM PEOPLE WHO INQUIRE NOT TO GO THERE. IT'S NOT WORTH THE TIME AND OR EFFORT BECAUSE I WAS RAMMED WITH A TROLLEY BY ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS WHILE I WAS LOOKING AT THE THE SWEET CORN OPPOSITE THE FRUIT SHELVES WHEN SHE LITERALLY RAMMED ME WITH A TROLLEY FROM ABOUT 2-3 METETRS AWAY. SHE RAMMED ME SO HARD THAT IT ALMOST KNOCKED ME TO THE GROUND, AND KNOCKED MY KEYS RIGHT OUT OF MY HAND SENDING IT SPRAWLING ACROSS THE FLOOR. HER EXCUSE WAS "OH SORRY THE TROLLEY RAN AWAY FROM ME". HOW THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN ON A FLAT AND LEVEL FLOOR SURFACE FROM A MERE 2-3 METERES AWAY, UNLESS SHE IS ABLE TO DEFY THE LAWS AND PRINCIPLES OF PHYSICS. THIS WAS THE LAST STRAW THAT I'M TAKING FROM THIS PICK 'N PAY AND WILL NEVER SUPPORT THEM EVER AGAIN. I WOULD RATHER WALK TO PICK 'N PAY PRECAP SOME 4KM AWAY TO BUY MY DAILY GOODS AT NORMAL PRICES, AND WITH EXCEPTIONALLY WELL MANNERD FRIENDLY STAFF AND HELPFUL MANAGEMENT, THAN EVER SHOPPING AT PICK 'N PAY 4TH STREET MALL, EVEN IF THEY SELL THE SAME ITEMS AT R0.01 OR EVEN GIVE IT AWAY FOR FREE.
They were very quick to wheel me out of the store with a wheelchair, but I declined and instead I requested to lodge a formal complaint with the Manager. When I requested this the lady (dressed in black with no name tag) told me she was the Manager. I told her that I don't recognise her as the Manager and would like to lodge my complaint with the 'real' Manager. Eventually a gentleman ( the 'real' Manager) approached me and I exclaimed my total dissatisfaction with what transpired and that I want to lodge a formal complaint. The gentleman didn't give me his name and only told me he will speak to the staff member, but did not even take down my details or requested it, he also just wanted to offer me a wheelchair to wheel me out of the store "to my vehicle" as he so eloquently put it. I again declined as I could clearly observe from the way I've been treated they were not even remotely interested to pursue the matter and take it seriously.
