Inhumane treatment of a single Mom

My sister who is a single parent, went grocery shopping at your Clearwater Mall branch about 1 hour ago with her last grocery money for the month. While standing at the till, the "customer" in front of her asked for help to pay for his Mielie Meel and 1 other item as he did not have enough money for his groceries of over R800. My sister agreed to help him with those 2 items and before she knew what was happening, he grabbed his packets and ran out of the store and she was told then by the cashier that she now needs to pay for all of the groceries he took. She was in absolute tears and shock, and when they looked on the cameras they saw that she had had a discussion with him and therefore stated that she is then responsible for this payment and she must go to the police to open a case. I find this lack of empathy and support for a single Mom so disheartening and that she now needs to pay Pick n Pay for a **** which she was not even aware of happening. How can this happen? Please urgently help? The manager even tried to help by giving her R300 of his own money to settle the cost, but she was forced to still pay the rest. This is so heartbreaking that a brand like Pick and Pay would allow something like this to happen. Surely the cashier should have checked this so called " arrangement" for my sister to pay his groceries - and by him running out of the store, should show Pick and Pay the ******** intent he had.
