Inferior meat quality and despicable customer services - Pick n pay Westville Junction

Pick n Pay in Westville Junction, Westville, Durban sells Lamb that is either gone off or is not suitable human consumption. I purchased 3 packs of lamb from this store on 03 November 2024 around midday. I took it home and we immediately started cooking this as a curry for our supper. After 1.5 hours we started to get a funny smell while the meat was being cooked. It smelt like the meat was gone off and the entire house started to smell. We continued cooking as we thought that the smell will go away, but it just got worse. I immediately contacted the store and spoke to the Store Manager on duty who said her name is Mogie. I explained to her what had happened and she said I should bring the meat back with my till slip and the packaging. I explained to her that this meat is in the pot and must I bring the entire pot, she then said I can bring it however I want to bring it as long as I have the tillslip and packaging with the meat. I immediately left and while onroute to the store, I contacted Pick n pay customer services and the lady said I should contact the store. I told her I am just wasting my time with Customer services and continued to the store. When I reached the store, I met Mogie who took the meat with the packaging and my tillslip. She took it back to the butchery and returned saying that I will get a refund. I tried to explain to her that this was supposed to be supper for my family but she just ignored me. She continued with seeing to another manager and what he wanted, totally disregarding me as a frequent shopper at Pick n pay Westville junction. I shop there almost every second day as I live in the area. She didnt care about the inconvenience her store caused for my time, fuel to come back to the store and the fact that my family and I did not have supper. Mogie seriously needs to go back for Customer services training as she does not know what customer service is. As for the Customer service contact line, I will wait 7-10 working days for them to come back to me. I will advise people not to purchase meat products from this particular store due to inferior quality or meat that has gone off. The store itself needs to send their management and staff for Customer service training as it is customers like myself that allows these staff members and management to get a salary. If they don't have customers then they will not get a salary. Please beware of this store and their butchery products.

Reviewer Update
Just a follow up on my previous review, I did receive a call from Josh, not sure who he was but he represented Pick n Pay Westville Junction. All he said was he spoke to Mogie and he consumed the meat and there was nothing wrong. So basically I wasted my time and effort writing the review as he denied the meat was of inferior quality and I was just lying about it. As for the manager, Pick n pay just had a chat with her.
As for the Customers Services of Pick n pay, they were non existent in this whole scenario. I never got a call from them to see if I have received any feedback from the store or just a courtesy call.
The above are reasons why I will never go back to Pick n pay Westville Junction as my monthly spend with them was an average of R3000 per month. They have lost a loyal customer. I am now shopping at Checkers and Spar which is 500m away. There you will find friendly staff and management. These stores are much cleaner and better to shop at. I will also be informing family, friends and colleagues about my experience with Pick n pay Westville Junction as I am from the area and I know alot of people that shop at this store. They will eventually shop at Checkers and Spar.
Pick N Pay as a whole, this is the reason why you guys are being overtaken by Checkers, Spar and other supermarkets. Your customer base is declining and will continue to decline if you have stores like Westville Junction.
