Incorrect advertising and Poor Customer Service S****s

I visited the Pick n Pay Hyper @ Woodmead on the 21/10/2018.Upon my arrival I had seen an advert for Charka Briquettes “ Buy all 3 for R100” So naturally it is a great deal and I take 3 bags of the briquettes and continue shopping. When the cashier completed the transaction and I had made payment I then looked at my till slip only to notice that I was charged R74.99 per item for the Charka – in total R224.70. The cashier told me to go to Customer Services and they will be glad to assist. The customer service team as no customer experience at all. I was appalled by the level of incompetence and arrogance received.

I merely advised the so called customer service lady that I was over charged and the advert read “Buy all 3 for R100 “ She immediately dismissed me and said “oh well the catalogue reads “ buy 3 of the following for R100 – firelighters ,lighter and charka” . I informed her that I did not see the catalogue but I saw the advert in the store . She then went to the advert in store and came back to tell me that the advert is incorrect ,but its not their fault. Another customer “ a Caucasian male “ also came to customer service at the same time and had the same issue that I had. So my question is “ 2 customers have the same issue and there is no resolution to it”???

The manager “ Simon “ tells me he will not honour the mis-advertisment .I then informed him that I want a refund and he mocked me and said no I cant get one and eventually agreed to the refund. Is that TCF ?IS THAT CUSTOMER SERVICES? While I am waiting for the refund to be processed the manager and the other lady quickly go and remove all the signage .

I was then told to fill in a form as to why I want a refund ,I told the lady “Cynthia Sebati “ that I do not have time to fill in forms when this is no fault of mine and I had my sick dad who has heart failure sitting in the car waiting for me. I told her you can surely fill in the form using my card details and at this time I was really annoyed and threw my card on the counter.

Cynthia then started cussing at me in Vernac and then said to me in English “ I am not a donkey I am a human being ‘” she turned this into a ****** issue and I was truly appalled by now. I kept quiet and left it at that .

You have cameras in store I am sure you can look at this to see the performance at your store.

I will never again set foot at your store ,customers are your lively hood not your punching bags and should not be pushed into a fight

Does Pick and Pay Woodmead not live by the TCF rule “ treating customers fairly?”
