I dont work for Pick n Pay
Today I went to pay at counter for less than 10 items. I paid and the lady who was assisting me named Sis Thandi gave me my change and went on with her business, calling another employee. I asked if I’m expected to pack for myself and she said that’s what happens on these tills. I am pretty sure the lady she served prior to assisting me did not pack her bags herself. She was not even looking at me nor entertaining my concerns but was rather still shouting and calling another person ignoring me completely. SA is really suffering in terms of customer service and I’m not sure why people like Sis Thandi don’t just go and retire if they are tired or feel they cannot service a younger person. This is complete bullying and inequal. If this is indeed Pick n Pay’s policy that as customers we do the work for their staff, we need transparency from them where they will hang up signs that advise customers that they will be packing for themselves at these tills. This is to eradicate the likes of Sis Thandi and offer the same service to all customers and I as a customer can decide upfront if I would like to do Sis Thandi’s job before I even join the queue.
You did not mention the store but upon checking on your Smart Shopper shopping history we were able to see that you had shopped at Northgate Hyper & we directed the complaint to that branch. We appreciate your feedback and value you as a loyal Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels. Kind Regards, Pick n Pay Team
