I am INSULTED!

I visited Pick ‘n Pay clothing today with the intention of purchasing a pair of white pants, however I quickly changed my mind when the shop assistant blatantly refused to let me try them on. According to her there is some ridiculous policy in place which doesn’t allow customers to try on white pants because “they get dirty.” Her solution was to try on a pair in a different colour and see how those fit in order to determine my size.

Now I have an issue with this for several reasons. Firstly, I specifically wanted to try on the white to see how they looked on me, because we all know that the colour of a pair of pants can significantly change the way they look when worn. Secondly, this logic dictates that I could try on a light pink or pale blue pair - do these colours not get dirty just as easily as white? Or does the dirt choose to show on white pants only and not any other colour? And lastly, this is a R179 pair of pants we are talking about here. I can go into any other store and try on a much more expensive pair of pants, and they will allow it. So what is your deal Pick ‘n Pay? Come down to earth a little bit.

I am extremely insulted at the fact that, in my corporate business attire, I am not deemed “clean” enough to try on a cheap pair of white pants, and I will never set foot in a Pick ‘n Pay clothing store again. I’ll rather shop where I am treated like an adult and not a dirty toddler.
