Horrible Pick n Pay Experience

Pick n Pay Hyper have a birthday special running from 21 June - 3 July. On Sa****ay morning 25th June I attempted to buy a Cadac 3 burner gas braai. I called the North gate and Princess crossing stores to find out they do not have stock. I was told by the princess crossing store to come in for a rain check. However, when I got there I was told they cannot do a rain check, all they can do is take my number and IF they get stock they will contact me. After this I phoned the Pick n Pay customer care and asked to check for stock at their wood mead and Soweto stores, which also had no stock. On Sunday I phoned the Norwood store to ask if they had stock and the lady I was put through said Im on lunch phone back in 10 minutes and slammed the phone down. My overall experience with Pick n Pay was appalling as such a big corporate has no professionalism or idea how to run a promotion. You cannot run a front page advert at 50% deal with 30 units per store and not notify the customer that each store has 30 units. Further to this, if you have limited stock at least have the wisdom to limit 1 per customer, where I was told at North Gate that one customer came and bought 6. How can you run a promotion for 13 days and run out within 4 days without a rain check, that is poor planning combined with a no credibility. Don't advertise if you will not supply demand.

Contacted by Yolanda Landsberg and the issue was resolved speedily. Restored my positive view of Pick n Pay
