Hello Checkers, good bye Pick n Pay

I live right opposite the Towers Pick n Pay in Langenhovenpark in Bloemfontein. I've heard many people complain about how expensive they are. And compared to Checkers THEY CERTAINLY ARE!!

To top it off the one manager there really doesn't believe in customer satisfaction as I've had no joy with him, on more than one occasion.

The latest (and final) episode was today. They were selling marked down Christmas mince pies - 3 for price of 2. Trouble was there were ONLY TWO pkts left! I worked out that 3pkts would have cost R22 each so offered to pay R44 for both. His response? No, he would put them out again "later in the month" with the cakes that were left over, and mark them down (individually?)

Just don't know if this guy is naturally "shopper-unfriendly", unprofessional or just plain stupid.

Me? I'm riding the extra 4kms to Checkers from now on. They're fast out pacing PnP, and management is so much more professional.

Checkers, here I come!
