health issues

Pick 'n Pay's attitude towards Public Health

I have been a shopper at the Pick 'n Pay hyper store at the Glen Shopping Mall for a number of years now. My

issue with theabove-mentioned hyper is as follows:

Pick 'n Pay for a number of years have been braaing boerewors meat in an indoor enclosed environment which is a

health issue. As a person walks through the hyper store the stench of boerewors meat permeates the environment as

well as a person's clothing apparel.

Despite numerous shopper complaints to management over a number of years the issue has not been addressed or

resolved. What management of a large hyper store permits boerewors meat braaing in an enclosed indoor

environment. It is clear that the Pick 'n Pay hyper store chain disregard all environmental health by-laws.

It is clear that the Pick 'n Pay Chief Executivive Officers and Shareholders have not read Environmental

Management Act 107 of 1998 which was Government Gazetted in 1998 and is a NATIONAL LAW.........

It is clearly stated in the National Environtal Act that all Institutions et al must ensure that the

enviroronmental safety and comfort of all inhabitants must be catered to. This has not been the case at Pick 'n

Pay hyper store at the Glen Shopping Mall

I will be taking up this matter with the Environtal Health Deparment as well as with the National Consumer

Commission of South Africa.
