Greenstone Pick n Pay dying one customer at a time.

Went to the kiosk at Pick n Pay Greenstone. Walked up and there was a till open. Teller was sitting doing nothing. I looked and saw that someone was busy at the other till and someone was next to them. But they looked like they were busy with something so I walked up to the till that wasn't busy. Figuring if they werent there they were waiting for the occupied till for some reason, because obviously the teller who wasnt busy had called them already. As we got to the till she called "next customer". And called for the people we thought were busy. Which is fair. We took a step back and waited for the next available till. When the till became available we stepped forward. So did another customer. I told him we were next and proceeded to speak to the teller about what we wanted. The other customer spoke to the teller. The teller then proceeded to talk to the other teller in a language I did not understand. I decided that I would rather spend my money where they are interested in having me as a customer.

Firstly this Pick n Pay is terrible. Their staff are generally rude, unhelpful and everytime I have gone there I have waited in enormous ques, partly because the staff are slow but mostly because they dont have enough staff to man all the tills. The only reason I go to this Pick n Pay is for the free parking.

I have bought mints to get the free parking, left Greenstone and gone across the road to Edenmeadows Pick n Pay. Where the staff are curtious, knowledgeable, helpful and an absolute pleasure to purchase from. They never make me feel uncomfortable.

So This is my point. My choice is to go to Greenstone Pick n Pay (where I am made uncomfortable and my patronage is unappreciated) or I can go to the Pick n Pay, Checkers across the road, Pick n Pay- Terrace rd , Spar- Stoneridge or Checkers- Green Valley down the road for better service. Or Food *****s, Meatworld, Appletree or Makro for better service and cheaper prices. Or I could stay at home and order on line from whoever I prefer or has the better price.

My point is that PP (Pick n Pay) Greenstone is chasing customers away. I have friends who travel further to other stores, one that drives past Greenstone to go to another store on the other side of Edenvale, for better service.

What is PP Greenstone doing to draw me in. They are putting the nail in their own coffin one at a time. It may take years but they are already loosing customers and the staff will loose jobs out of no fault but their own.

As a customer I choose where I shop which means I never have to walk into that store ever again. I am spoilt for choice. Yes as a South African I am brand loyal but my wallet is pinched tight and that makes me consider other options and once I change brand loyalty keeps me away. I spend R6500 a month on Groceries. Not with Pick n Pay, too expensive. But they say one complaint is the voice of One thousand customers, so that's R650000 Greenstone looses a month. And we One thousand are spoilt for choice.
