Front end staff can make or destroy a sale

I just want to say thank you to a lady by the name of Samke I'm assuming she's a front end controller. I had a problem whereby my standard bank card declined as I was paying for my groceries. I asked the cashier if she can have my transaction saved as I go to withdraw cash. Just when I was leaving the store Samke asked me not to leave just yet, she went to get the backup machine and inserted my card to complete the transaction. While waiting for the transaction to process she explained to the cashier that when a card declines they have to use The backup machine before resorting to the customer having to leave the store to withdraw money. The cashier didn't really seem to care. She seemed more irritated than anything. She made me feel embarrassed and acted as if its my fault that the card didn't go through. <br> I'm in the retail field myself and understand that our customers are the reason we have our doors open. They make us. <br> <br> I'm pleased that Samke came along when she did. She's an asset.
