Formal Product Quality Complaint – Dewfresh Fresh Cream Ruined Peppermint Crisp Desserts
Dear Customer Service, I am writing to lodge a formal complaint regarding the quality of Dewfresh Fresh Cream product, which I purchased from Pick n Pay at Honey Junction on 30/08/2026 I purchased the cream to prepare a peppermint crisp tart and peppermint crisp cake. Unfortunately, after using the product, I discovered that the cream was spoiled/defective and had an abnormal taste and/or quality. As a result, both desserts were ruined and had to be discarded. The financial loss I suffered is therefore not limited to the price of the Dewfresh cream. I had already purchased and used a number of other ingredients specifically for these desserts, all of which were wasted as a direct consequence of the defective cream. I also lost the time and effort involved in preparing the desserts. I am therefore requesting: A full refund for the Dewfresh Fresh Cream; Reimbur*****t for the reasonable cost of the other ingredients that were wasted as a direct result of the defective product; and A formal investigation into the quality of the product and the relevant batch/lot. I have retained the product packaging and can provide photographs, proof of purchase, the batch/lot number, expiry date and a breakdown of the ingredients and costs incurred. I regard this as a serious product-quality complaint because fresh cream is a perishable food product and consumers are entitled to expect that the product is safe, of good quality and fit for its intended purpose. I am also exercising my rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, including the imp**** warranty of quality contemplated under section 56. Please confirm receipt of this complaint, provide me with a complaint/reference number, and advise me of the process for submitting the product for inspection and processing my claim. I would appreciate a substantive response and resolution within a reasonable period. Should the matter not be satisfactorily resolved, I reserve my right to escalate the complaint through the appropriate consumer protection and dispute-resolution channels. I look forward to your urgent response.
