FOLLOW-UP
I am writing to formally follow up on a complaint regarding an incident that occurred at your Blue Hills Noordwyk store on the 12th of June 2024. I was deeply disappointed by the treatment I received and the handling of a pricing issue by the store manager.
On my visit to the aforementioned Pick n Pay store, I came across a two-plate gas stove that was priced at R54.00 on the shelf. To my surprise, there was not just one, but four boxes of this gas stove, all under the same price. Under the Customer Protection Act, it is expected that a retailer honours the displayed price for items on their shelves, and I do understand it must have been a mistake on their side.
However, when I attempted to purchase one of these stoves, the store manager outright refused to honour the shelf price. This is a clear violation of the Customer Protection Act, which mandates that consumers should not be misled by incorrect pricing. The manager's refusal to comply with this legal requirement is highly concerning.
Adding to my frustration was the manner in which the situation was handled. The store manager was not only unhelpful but also exceedingly rude and dismissive. This unprofessional behaviour is unacceptable and does not reflect the customer service standards that Pick n Pay is reputed to uphold.
I urge you to take immediate action to rectify this situation. I expect that appropriate measures will be taken to address the pricing discrepancy and ensure such incidents do not recur in the future. Moreover, I request a formal apology from the store for the disrespectful treatment I endured from the manager, also I would like my stove at that R54.00 price that i saw on the shelf. Take note that I also took pictures of the item priced R54.00.
I look forward to your prompt response and resolution of this matter. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to discuss the next steps as I really want my stove. It has been over 72 hours now.
Yours sincerely, Remoneilwe Makhele
