Five days, no response to my complaint second time reporting poor service & expired stock issues
I complained to Pick n Pay directly on Saturday. Today is Wednesday. I have received no call, no email, no acknowledgement—nothing.
Here is what I reported, and nothing has been done:
1. Refusal to pack at express till + Dismissive supervisor
· Cashier Keamogetswe refused to pack my items, saying "it's express, you must do it yourself" · I asked for a manager. A supervisor came after 10 minutes of me standing there being ignored · During those 10 minutes, Keamogetswe continued serving other customers as if I did not exist · The supervisor was dismissive, did not speak to the cashier, and told me I should call her every time to pack for me
This is the second time I have complained about customer service at this store.
2. Perishable stock issue – food close to expiry with no warning Separately, no one is monitoring perishable stock. Food close to its expiration date is being sold without any warning label, discount, or clear expiry notice. This is a health risk.
What I need from Pick n Pay immediately:
· Contact me directly with the name of the person handling this complaint · Confirm what action has been taken against cashier Keamogetswe and the supervisor · Confirm that expired or close-to-expiry stock will be removed or clearly marked with warnings
If I do not hear back within 48 hours, I will escalate this to the National Consumer Commission (NCC). The NCC recently issued compliance notices to 45 non-compliant suppliers for selling expired food—this is a violation of Section 55(2) of the Consumer Protection Act .
I left Shoprite because of this exact behaviour. Pick n Pay is now just as bad.
