False advertising and trickery

Today I went to pick and pay cape gate and was very disappointed.

You advertised and item for R499 but when I got to the till it scaned R869.99. Yet the price was advertised by the item.

I advised the cashier the price is not correct,she then said it looks like a mistake but she will get the manager.

The manager came and had attitude and said they will never give such a big difference.

I advised him it's false advertising he then continued and refused to give the item at the advertised price. I have attached pictures of the item.

My question is what happend to the pick and pay price guarantee? Are the consumers being **********?

I done some research and came across an article on news 24 that explains pick and pay price guarantee. I was however not given this treatment today and am highly disappointed. It's not about the money but the consistency and transparency on prices, I spent money at the shop cause of the special that was advertised but I was *******.

Please sort this out.
