FALSE ADVERTISING AND RUDENESS

On Friday 05 April 2024, I went to Pick n Pay liquor store in Fishhoek. I specifically went for 3 x 750ml Jameson that is on special, starting 25 March 2024 until 7 April 2024. On arrival at the store the sale price was removed with a new advertising signage stating that the 759ml Jameson is now selling at R399.99. I spoke to te cashier about the chande in price, and he called the store manager Mr Blessing Mfigu. Mr Mfigu told me that the sale is over and the new price is on the new advertising pamphlet. I asked him how can this be cause the sale advertising date is not yet up. He was adamant, rude and arrogant that the sale was over and this is the new price. I asked him to show me where is the sale pricing stickers that were on the shelf stating that the 750ml Jameson is R315 starting from 1 March 2024 and ending on 7 April 2024, he abruptly said he doesn't know and refused to help. I managed to get the sale price advert from the cashier reflecting 750ml Jameson at R315 from 25 .March 2024 until 7 April 2024. Mr Mfigu rudely challenged me as to where did I get the sale price and why did I go behind the counter. Please note that I was never behind the counter and received this advertising from the cashier cause she did serve me on the Wednesday 3 April 2024 and confirmed that the sale is until th 7 April 2024. Mr Mfigu said I must take it up with Pick n Pay headoffice. I explained my dilemma to the grocery store manager, who agreed that it is not my fault and my till slip should be voided and I should be refunded. Mr Mfigu however refused arrogantly and blatantly walked away from me. It must be noted that the entire incident was in th arcade of Pick n Pay whilst patrons are walking in and out the arcade starring as to what was happening. I wish to warn all Pick n Pay customers to be aware of false advertising from this retailer and also the approach of this situation was handled poorly and I am disgusted by his rude behavior.
