False advertising and attitude

<p>Hi I am at pick n pay at campus square at Auckland park, I picked a product from the shelves because it had a price of 21.97 and when I got to the till it was 137.00. I disputed this and the lady who was helping me pack went back to check,i followed her, only to find her removing the 21.97 price tag, looking for the 137.00 price which was not there. I believe it was only fair I pay for what I saw. It is not my fault as a customer. I asked the manager to intervene he gave me attitude and told me I should have compared the barcodes, who has time to do that. I expressed my anger and told him I'll put this bad service on hello Peter. HE TOLD ME TO GO AHEAD. HIS NAME IS ISAAC. So disappointed. </p>

Good day Mbali,

Thanks for taking the time to write to us regarding your incident.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconveniences caused to you.

The policy we have in place for items incorrectly scanned is Double the Difference and this will only take effect provided that the customer is in store at the time of the purchase to claim double the difference and the bar-code of the item scanned and the shelf bar-code must match.

Double the difference - http://www.picknpay.co.za/general-detail/customer-services

If any item scans at a higher price than displayed on shelf and the barcode corresponds, we will give you the item at the marked price, PLUS double the difference off the first item and the subsequent items at the lower price.

Terms & Conditions of Double the Difference
Policy is applicable only from time of purchase;
Double the difference does not apply to staff;
Barcode needs to correspond with item being queried;
Only the first item is given double the difference back and balance of products at the lower price;
If double the difference is more than the product, the customer gets the product for free;

We will address this with our management team to ensure that goods are packed on the correct shelves.

We appreciate your feedback and value you as a loyal Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels.

Kind regards,

Vanitha Venketas
