I am very dissapointed in the way Pick n Pay Chatsworth handled my situation Yesterday 25/07/2017. I am a well known customer in the store and when i visited the store yesterday i saw that the Dair**** icecream was on Promotion for 49.99 and that directly above the freezer was a huge promotional board saying "Dary**** on Promotion" so i grabbed a tub of ice cream not even thinking or looking twice. i even asked a staff member who walked pass me at the time if the ice cream is really on promption she validated this by saying yes as it was in the freezer right underneath the promotion sign. when i get to the till point the ice cream scans as 69.99 so the cashier calls the supervisor who goes and checks and comes back to me saying that this particular ice cream is not on promotion as it was the "cookies and cream" and she was very unapologetic towards the situtation. My argument was why put it in the same freezer as the promotional ice cream and why put it directly underneath the promotional sign? they didn't even have a notice indicating that this ice cream was excluded from the promotion!

I even called for the store manager who spoke to me alongside a merchandiser who said that this particular ice cream is a "New line" and labelled differently. I even asked her why are all the ice creams mixed (Promotional and non Promotional) in one freezer underneath a promotional board saying "on promotion for 49.99" because i as a customer am not going to read the labels because i am more focused on looking at that big promotion board and the ice creams in that freezer directly under the board! i even told her if all the customers make the same mistake will you say the same thing? as there is no indication that the ice cream i took is excluded as it is the same brand of ice cream. They never did give me the Ice cream after my dispute and in my presence asked one of the staff members for an A4 page so that they can now indicate to customers the this particular ice cream is excluded! Which means i was right in what i was saying to her.

My argument is, If i was right about this dispute why not give me the ice cream first then take action by indicating on the page to customers that this particular ice cream in excluded from the promotion?

I feel that this was a bad way of advertising and in all my years of being a customer what the customer sees the customers gets.

Its only a 20 rand difference! so its not about the money for me!... its about the principal about doing whats right when it comes to these kind of situations... Clearly 20 rand is alot of money to pick n pay more valuable than a Customer.
