**** BANK NOTE RECEIVED
I went into Pick 'n Pay Victoria Road Grassy Park the afternoon the 4th December 2022. Did a bit of shopping, and withdrew R600 at the cashier. Not thinking much about it went home put the money in my drawer. On the morning the 5th December 2022 I went to of FNB Grassy Park to deposit the money into my dad's account. One of the notes was rejected. Upon examining the notes one of them was sellotaped, so I thought maybe that was the issue. I went back to Pick 'n Pay I had my slip as well. I spoke to somebody at the at the front counter wanting to exchange the note. I handed it to her she looked at it and told me that they won't be able to exchange it as the serial numbers did not match on the notes. I was actually astonished that something that I withdrew or was provided with at the store could not be returned or exchanged. The way she told me this suggested to me that I was lying and I told her as much. In hindsight I should of checked the notes yes, my only concern is did your staff check the notes and if so why was it in the cash register. If I may suggest a scenario leading up to me receiving the monies at your store. Your staff member did not check a customer funds upon receipt and was duped into taking the money. Upon checking after the fact she discovered her mistake and instead of reporting the loss and potentially a wrap on the knuckle she decided to pass the buck so to speak. Alternatively let's say she not know and provided it inadvertently which could also be the case. The manner in which your staff member handled second contact was very unprofessional, I had the documentation as to say please look into it. All I was told was unable to help please leave, not in those words but that is gist of it. In a customer centric industry one should expect more empathy in this regard as you may not be aware of my circumstances, it could been my last monies. And for you to brush it off and insinuate that I am basically talking **** wreaks of arrogance and a lack of respect. Most people are good, honest and empathetic. So yes am out of pocket ONLY R100 luckily, could of been more. If i was really by the means i would request a polygraph test to prove my point, but unfortunately its not to be. Hopefully this prevents someone else getting fleeced. Guys please check your monies before leaving as **** NOTES PROVIDED WILL NOT BE EXCHANGED EVEN IF PROOF OF WITHDRAWAL ATTACHED.
