Failure of service delivery

At 4pm on Tuesday, 27 December 2016, I attempted to buy a rose for my elderly grandmother. Upon reaching the cashier, the rose had no price tag. The cashier searched for another similar product and presented me with a chrysanthemum (Marked R44.90). I noted that this was dissimilar to the rose. She requested assistance from one of the floor assistants/floor managers. She brought a potted plant to the till, this time priced at R150. I raised my unhappiness with this. She then proceeded to call the manager.

An incredibly rude man then emerged and said that I must either take the price that has been listed or return the rose. I then said that I would in fact like to buy the rose, but at the price of the rose and not this inflated price. The manager said that I had to pay the price of the potted plant or the rose will not be sold as they don't have it listed on the system.

I then opted to not pay the inflated price and he ordered the cashier to do the return, turned on his heel and stormed off. I have honestly never experienced such poor service from such an unfriendly manager.

I am truly disgusted at this simple bit of shopping that turned into such an unacceptable incident.
