Extremely Disappointing Experience with Pick n Pay and Customer Service

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Pick n Pay and Customer Service I am deeply dissatisfied with my recent experience with Pick n Pay, particularly with their online services and customer support. Over the Easter weekend, I attempted to send my elderly father, who was alone at home, some Easter eggs from Vietnam. Since my father prefers Pick n Pay and holds a loyalty card, I chose to use their platform, expecting a straightforward process. Unfortunately, the reality was the exact opposite.

Non-Functional Online Services Despite registering online, I was unable to purchase anything, not a voucher, not arrange a delivery, nor even set up a store pickup. The website proved to be completely dysfunctional, offering no viable options for remote gifting or support for loyal customers. This is not an isolated incident; numerous customers have reported similar issues with Pick n Pay’s online platform, describing it as unreliable, glitchy, and prone to technical failures.

Appalling Customer Service After exhausting all self-service options, I reached out to customer support via WhatsApp and email. It took nearly a week before anyone responded, and when a representative named Nozie Dhlamini finally rep****, her response was filled with excuses rather than solutions. I specifically asked for guidance on purchasing a voucher, as her email invited further questions. However, after my follow-up, I received no response whatsoever. This lack of accountability and basic courtesy is, unfortunately, a recurring theme in Pick n Pay’s customer service, as echoed by many other frustrated customers.

Chronic Lack of Accountability Pick n Pay’s inability to resolve even simple issues promptly is alarming. Customers are routinely ignored, redirected endlessly, or left without any resolution. The company’s representatives, including Nosie Dhlamini in my case, appear either unwilling or unable to assist with even the most basic requests. This demonstrates a clear lack of training and commitment to customer care.

Conclusion Pick n Pay’s online platform and customer service are, quite frankly, abysmal. The company fails to deliver on its promises and demonstrates a shocking disregard for its customers’ needs. My attempts to send a simple gift to my father were met with incompetence and indifference. I strongly advise others to avoid Pick n Pay’s online services, as they are unreliable and supported by an ineffective customer service team. Shame on Pick n Pay, and especially on representatives like Nozie Dhlamini—for letting down loyal customers so thoroughly
