Expiring Smart Shopper Points

I am on the Smart Shopper points for a few years. I do not always shop at Pick 'n Pay as the store that is closest to me is in not a place that is convenient. I accumulated approximately R178 worth of points at the end of 2017.

When I did some shopping at the beginning of this year, my points were R48.

Pick 'n Pay did not explain to me what happened to those points. I tried to find out by logging in to the Smart Shopper terminal. No reason there as well.

I received an email last week telling me my R48 in points will expire on 01 February 2018. It's amazing that they have communicated with me suddenly.

This needs to be rectified. Please communicate with customers properly if you want to keep customers. Checkers does not have any programme as such, but have lower prices for the major groceries. I go to Pick 'n Pay to buy items that I really need.

I was saving the points for a rainy day. I can't be the only person. It seems that Pick 'n Pay does not care about that.

Good day Durell,

Thank you for contacting Pick n Pay, We appreciate you taking the time to write to us.

Please note Smart Shopper points are valid for 12 months from the time they’re earned. The best way not to lose your PnP rewards is to make sure you spend them from time to time. We always use your oldest points first so use your points to save even more on every day shopping or treat yourself to something special. You can switch points on the app or via the kiosk. We have escalated for your points to be re-instated.

We value you as a Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels.

Kind Regards,

Thabisile Macuacua

Best regards,

DB
