Exchange not accepted

My daughter bought me boots at pick n pay in promenade mall cape town and the boots did not fit me now my daughter is out of town and i have no till slip, i went to the store to exchange the size and i was told that they can not exchange without the till slip with attitude even, they spoke to me like they were speaking to a stupid person they even called a xhosa person to explain to me as if i do not understand english, i do not understand because my daughter bought this for me as a gift i will not get a slip anywhere now because my daughter is not in cape town, i was told about the pick n pay returns policy of which when i read the policy exemptions there is nothing that states that no goods will be accepted without a till slip can someone assist as i cannot wear the boots because of the size . A quick response will be highly appreciated.
