Empty promises
Pick n Pay offers a store account to customers. I was approached by a gentlemen to apply for an account and so I did. I did not use the account for a while, while during that time PnP sent me a sms to inform me that after my first purchase of R500 or more, I get R200 back on the card. So I used the card and made sure that the amount exceeds R500, in order to get the R200. But they never did what they promised. It is only R200, but do that to 1000 customers and it makes up a large amount. I tried phoning customer care, but after 15 minutes of hanging on, I couldn't wait any longer. Empty promises to get customers to start using the account. I won't be surprised if the interest rate is something ridiculous and PnP gets a fat kickback for every transaction from RCS
