Embarrsing treatment PnP Madeliefie

Pick n Pay Madliefe iin Pta refused to accept a R200 note as legal tender. According to the cashier and the so called manager with an attitude they were instructed not to accept these notes as payment as it has been removed from circulation. However the R200 I wanted to pay with is one of the notes that was issued after 2005. I had to put some of my stuff I wanted to purchase back and felt embarresed as other people also wanted to pay for their goods and that was the only money I had. They do not have any notices up instore in this regard firstly and secondly they do not really have a clue on which noted it actually is that they are not supposed to accept. Upon trying to correct the manager with the correct information we were told that is just the way it is and that is the rules thay were given.
