Double The Difference Policy

I went to PnP Brackenfell hyper to purchase coffee and Shelf edge label (Attached) read Jacobs Coffee 300gram + 250gram R109.95. There was a 300g on the one shelf and a 250gram on the shelf above so I took one of each because thats what the shelf edge label read. When I got to the till the items scanned R109.95 each and i informed the cashier and the assistant went to fetch the label. The cashier agreed but there was absolutely no mention of the policy. The cashier then caled a till supervisor who came and checked it and said that the shelf edge label was wrong, also no mention of the Policy, then when I mentioned the policy, they said that all the management was in a meeting and that someone would phone me later. mandy phoned me and said that they have no such promotion in the store and that she is sorry that the shelf edge label was incorrect,....Mandy also did not mention the policy and all she said was that she cant give me the deal because it printed wrong. The policy clearly states that if double the difference is more than the product the the item\s are free. Why was the company policy not adhered to ? I am of the opinion that they purposely try to avoid giving people what is due to them when the items scan incorrectly. This is not the first time this happend to me, It also happend at Ottery Hypermarket when purchasing a toy for my kid which scanned incorrectly, and this time I'm not leaving it like that.

Good day Wadeed,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

Kindly note that the Double the difference policy states: If any item scans at a higher price than displayed on shelf and the barcode corresponds, we will give you the item at the marked price, plus double the difference off the first item and the subsequent items at the lower price.

The Double the difference policy will not apply to combo deals as each product is scanned individually.

We are addressing the issue of the incorrect pricing and will revert with feedback.

Kind Regards

Anwar Mooideen

Hi Anwar,

Thank you for taking the time to respond, Someone from the store called me on Friday and I am not satisfied with the way this Theresa handled this query, Same story as Mandy, different day. Firstly the policy does not state anything about Combo Deals, and clearly I thought this was a combo deal but its is not, so why even mention that the policy does not apply to conmbo deals. My question to you is , had you been a customer and you read the attached shelf edge lable, what would you have thought? Take off your Pick n Pay hat for 1 minute and put yourself in my shoes, Theresa kept on expplaining that this was not the deal and the she even went as far as saying that the shelf edge label was correct and I understood it wrong because Its supposed to be 250g +50g =300g, Now I DONT see a "50g" nor an "Equal to" on this label. I dont really care what should have been on the label, THAT is your problem not mine. I feel that Pick n Pay is in the wrong here and SOMETHING needs to be done about this,.... I WILL take this right to the top if I have to.
