Dont keep adequate stock on purpose?

Since Lockdown has been announced and i managed to get to my regular store in Birchleigh North, I found them to be out of stock especially on the specials. It is weird that I experienced the same when visiting the nearby store in Van Riebeeck Park. Even out of bread and fruit and vegetables. You cannot find even salt except in bottles. you can only find a few pieces of toothpaste on the shelves and only the expensive ones. No manager in site and then you hear the stock is low because of panic buying. Surely Pick n Pay was expecting panic buying or is it convenient to run out of stock so your expensive items can sell. Went to Evergreens in Kempton Park and they are stocked up even specials of previous week is still stocked up. I am very disappointed in PicknPay thought the care but they evidently don't. Held on the phone to tal to consultant for 15 minutes and hung up.

Hi Andre,

Please accept our apologies for the delay in response to your post.

We know that a small number of stock items might currently be in short supply. This is temporary, because there is more than enough stock in our distribution centres and with our suppliers, but it might take a day or so to reach our stores.

Where stocks are low because of heavy customer demand, we have limited purchases per customer temporarily. This is to ensure that as many customers as possible can buy the essentials they want or need.

We value you as a Pick n Pay customer and are committed to improve continually on our service levels. Kind Regards,The Pick n Pay Team
